Job Description
The Principal/Headmaster is charged with providing leadership that maintains and forwards Pine Forge Academy’s commitment to excellence as well as provides a vision for the future. The Principal/Headmaster is directly responsible to the Board of Trustees and the Allegheny East Conference Education Superintendent.

Responsibilities:
1. Oversees the daily internal and external operations of the academy.
2. Oversees and directs the curriculum and instructional program of the academy.
3. Maintains an awareness of the various changes in education, on the state and national level make appropriate adjustments in the     academic programs of the academy.
4. Serves as the curriculum leader for the school in collaboration with the Allegheny East Conference Office of Education and the faculty of the Academy.
5. Leads the coordination of all spiritual activities on and off the campus with assistance from other Academy administrators. 
6. In collaboration with the Board of Trustees develops the Academy’s strategic planning initiatives and is responsible for implementing such initiatives.
7. Supervises all personnel with full responsibility for the evaluation of employee performance in a manner that is in harmony with the Pine Forge Academy Personnel Committee and the Allegheny East Conference Office of Education.
8. Uses relevant data to analyze curricular and program effectiveness, developing innovative, research‐based approaches that advance student success.
9. Promotes and provides for professional development activities that support faculty and staff professional growth in areas that advance the Academy goals and objectives.

Qualifications:
• Practicing member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
• A visionary, focused on community outreach
• Proven instructional leader, capable of helping teachers achieve appropriate academic outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to use appropriate data in decision making.
• Effective verbal, written, interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
• Effective enrollment building, fundraising and business management.

Requirements:
• Appropriate regular teacher and administrative certificates
• Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience as Principal/Assistant Principal on a secondary level 
• Advanced degree certification in Educational Administration & Leadership or in an appropriate content area with an Ed.D./Ph.D. desirable
• FBI Fingerprint and Criminal Background Checks & Child Abuse training and clearances
